It's Alive!!!

I am a bit of a computer nerd. I like to build my own machines and will never buy one retail again. I have recently (read a few months ago) purchased some newer components including the BioStar TForce Mobo shown above. This along with an AMD Phenom 9600 Quad core, a new full tower case, power supply, and corsair dominator (2x2GB) memory and my rig is running great. Now just need to get a new video card along the lines of GeForce 9800 GTX+ and I'll be rockin'. By the way I use Newegg for all of my computer and electronic needs. I suggest you do as well.

"Cigar Corner" or something catchy...

While I am an avid participant of cigar smoking I do not consider myself an aficionado. That being said, every so often I would like to bring to your attention a particular cigar that has caught my eye beginning with one that I have been involved with for quite some time, the Rocky Patel Signature. This cigar has performed exceptionally well every time our paths meet and I would recommend one to anyone who enjoys the occasional outdoor respite especially when accompanied by a rocks glass full of Johnnie Walker Black. Mmmm……

You probably don't care but...

I work in transportation as a logistics coordinator meaning I basically am just a go between for shippers and truckers. As such I run into issues with freight mistakes during the course of my day particularly with truck drivers. It just seems that the majority of all my problems comes from shoddy work practices by trucking companies. Which brings me to my point of this rant, why is there no valid, immediate, and harsh punishment for failing to fulfill a freight contract? As of right now my options boil down to trying to not pay the company or whining at them. Since the bill can be passed off to a collections agency by the carrier it really isn't that big of a threat to try and not pay which leaves me with the very fulfilling but ultimately fruitless act of bitching and complaining at the dispatcher till they cant handle anymore and say they are sorry. This while incredibly satisfying doesn't really produce any results whatsoever. So again I ask the question, why is there no repercussion for these failed freight contracts? I suggest firing squad...

Better Half

If you want a to see what my life is like from another perspective, get my wife's. Visit her and our three boys at Three Boys Strong. Interesting material for mothers everywhere.

Why yes, yes it did...

Interestingly enough while investigating Widgetbox I navigated to a page that had something to do with facebook and I was greeted with this wonderfully flattering and cheesy pickup line seen above. I keep telling my wife I'm a raging stack of awsome and now I have the proof. Thanks Widgetbox!

A Family that Shares Together..

So, it has been my overwhelming joy to be blessed with a new baby boy not six weeks ago and to this day I have been finding out new and wonderful things about my son, Brennan. Last night, around 1:30a.m., Brennan decided to share with me for the first time, about two and a half ounces to be exact and while I would normally applaud his graciousness I really didn't feel that my bare chest and pajama-ed lap needed the late night shower of warm formula. Ah, the joys of parenthood....

Would you Laugh or Cry?

Horace Walpole once wrote, "Life is a comedy for those who think... and a tragedy for those who feel." (taken from Gmail quote of the day) Does this mean as a person who laughs a lot in life that I don't feel as much as another person? I have been accused of being a bit emotionally constipated in the past. Is this just a side effect of my working brain? Is it better to have less emotion and thus in turn be happier in more scenarios or to have more feelings about everything and risk the potential of getting them hurt? What are you, a thinker or a feeler?

It's a start...

I believe that there is a time in every man and woman’s life where they think to themselves, “I’ve got something to say and, by golly, it’s important!” Whether this is actually the case or it is a self deluding impulse based on the fear of no one actually listening to me in my family, I have been blessed with this particular self righteous feeling today and this blog seems to be the resulting factor. I hope that I can bring to any of the poor souls who actually read my post the most quality of blogging literature while at the same time trying not to scare off my friends and family by allowing them the slim glimpse into my otherwise unconventional mind. It is apparent that in any journey there is a beginning and an end and while the destination is not always clear or evident, the beginning is more clearly marked. It seems that this is where we now find ourselves, the imaginary precipice of my informational adventure, a jumping off point if you will into the maelstrom of my life. Hopefully no one gets hurt.
